Coming January, 2012, The Chairman will release his highly awaited spoken word poetry cd titled, The Chairman of Spoken Words II featuring Lea Sweet, "Get in Line for the Ride." The Chairman of Spoken Words II (TC II) take us from the micro to the macro level of social ills, each track taking us on twists and turns. The Chairman has craftily raised the bar; the lyrics are ascending to another dimension to open new mindset while eliminating old destructive thought patterns. There are ten powerful tracks on TC II, produced by The Chairman of Spoken Words, Playarighteous and Lea Sweet.
The music composer/rapper/songwriter Playarighteous (Antioch, CA) produced the first 8 tracks and Sam “G-Man” Keith (Hayward, CA) composed the last two tracks that created a unique sound for The Chairman of Spoken Words. Featured on TC II are Playarighteous, singer/songwriter/producer & 3 times BAMA award winner Lea Sweet, singer Ralph Greene and uprising spoken word artist-Da Ghetto Child (Dominique McDowell). Songs are Living in Times, As I Sit, Controlled ft Lea Sweet, Pray ft Playarighteous & Ralph Greene, Spend Time ft Playarighteous & Da Ghetto Child, Just the Way ft. The Chairman of Spoken Words has performed from the Bay Area to Chicago such as The Java House, The Poetic Groove, Linen Life, Anna’s Jazz Island, Jefferies Inner Circle, Listen & Be Heard, Hollar Back, The Air Lounge, Kimballs and Dalva’s to The Green Mill in Chicago, and clubs in Atlanta, Texas, & Minneapolis. He has performed at the Juneteenth Festivals in San Francisco, Love Jones in Oakland, and various other Bay Area events. The Chairman has performed for The Whispers Anniversary in Antioch Ca; Opened for R&B, Country Singer Lea Sweet at Yoshi's San Francisco & Oakland CA, Rockit Room, Radisson Hotel, Arroyo Park with Zapp & more; Jan'ell in Austin Texas 'Hear 4 Me,’ and with various other artist such as Tyson Amir, and more. He’s been on various radio stations and online radio broadcasts such as KPOO, KGO radio, 104.1 fm, the Village Connect, the Remix and many others.
The Chairman is the recipient of the 2011 National BMA and 2010 BMA awards for the genre - Spoken Word. On facebook, twitter, and online music outlets. He is the author of Knowledge in Poetic Views (My Body Too Heavy to Hang from a Tree) on Amazon.com. He is a director of the SEOP in San Francisco, CA, and an activist, leader, mentor, guide, motivational speaker and educator; certified addiction treatment counselor with MA & MS degrees.
